Inclusion Pledge Initiative 2023

Introduction to our Inclusion Pledge

We are excited to share information about a new initiative this year called the Inclusion Pledge. We are planning to promote this throughout 2023.

We would like to extend the invitation any Athens County organization or group to review, consider, and possibly sign the pledge and select a few actions to work towards in this coming year.

The Inclusion Pledge is a commitment to help make Athens County an even more inclusive community. The ACBDD’s vision is “an integrated and inclusive Athens County.” We understand we cannot do this work alone. And so, we are looking to find those in our community who are interested in working on this with us!

Below is a link to the pledge which includes some additional information about this initiative. As you’ll read in the pledge itself, we are asking community partners to identify action steps this year that help improve awareness of what inclusion means and/or improve inclusiveness. Specific action steps will be unique to each organization, entity, or community group.

The next few pages of the document are designed to help community partners identify what those action steps can be. Our agency plans to have conversations with each community group willing to sign on to help them identify reasonable action steps and to help them accomplish their objectives. At the end of the year, we hope to have a celebration to acknowledge all those who were able to meet their objectives.

Thank you in advance for your time, please reach out if you have questions or need support.

Please send us a copy of your signed pledge if you do choose to sign it and participate.
